Idoko Ochai is the Legal Lead, West Africa at Paystack. He is responsible for managing Paystack’s legal and regulatory affairs in Nigeria, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire. He was part of the team that worked on the acquisition of Paystack by Stripe, a deal valued in excess of $200 million and regarded as one
of the biggest start-up acquisitions in the Africa tech ecosystem. Prior to joining Paystack, he worked as a Senior Associate at TNP, and led the firm’s Regulatory and Tech team. Idoko has been privileged to provide legal advisory support to leading fintechs/e-commerce companies in the Nigeria tech ecosystem and worked closely with them to obtain regulatory approvals, implement corporate
governance principles, proactively identify, and mitigate against legal risks associated with their business.
He has completed the Oxford Fintech Programme at the Said Business School, University of Oxford and he is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
