Zelda Akindele leads the Fintech Team at Templars and is a Partner in the Finance, Capital Markets and METI Practice Groups.
In leading the firm’s Fintech team, she leverages on two decades of experience advising on domesticand international finance and capital market transactions, ranging from her early days working in the
finance practice of Clifford Chance LLP in London and Milan.
Her experience in this regard cuts across product structuring and market entry advice within the
payments and cross border remittances space and she is often to be found advising international
investors into the Nigerian fintech market. By way of example, she has advised some of the biggest
global FinTechs and Tech companies including PayPal, Stripe, Amazon Payments, Western Union,
Checkout.com, EBANX, ApplePay, GooglePay etc.
Additionally, she is notable for providing 360 legal support from ideation to product launch and fund
raising for some of the biggest digital banks in Nigeria. For example, she led the Templars team that
advised Kuda (Nigeria’s first challenger bank) on their US$10 million seed, US$25 million series A and
US$55 million series B funding rounds.
